Review: Swordfish (2001)

DVD review for Videosyncrasy film magazine

Jackman is a rubbish hacker and can’t even type fast, opting to slam several keys at once rather than accurately enter commands in the correct syntax. And what in the name of Variable Length Subnet Masks is he stressing about being fellated whilst operating the computer – which at one point isn’t even on? Prefers boys or something?

There are no Oscar nods for Halle Berry here either; she’s only in the film to whip out her tiny tooters. But the usual hacker silliness of Hollywood aside, Swordfish is a slick, stylish technology-infiltration thriller, the opening eight minutes or so (and the ending) particularly impressing.
